LED Conversion Sets for Rail Vehicles

How can a cooperation between a manufacturer of rail vehicles and NOLDEN look like? For example like this: our experienced (CAD) engineers design and develop a light - precisely and sensibly tailored to the manufacturer's requirements. Of course, we can work together with the manufacturer's own or external designers.

For rail vehicles, complete and self-contained lights are the preferred option. However, solutions based on our innovative NCC® modules also allow a lot of design freedom and great scope to stand out from the competition with individual design and state-of-the-art technology. That's why we are happy to offer complete packaging even in comparatively small quantities. And this includes everything that is necessary for production: lights, bezels, cable harnesses and light failure control systems. If desired, the product can be delivered to the customer in individual packaging units. It's clear: for NOLDEN, every order comes from a major customer.

NCC® TLS TRAM LIGHT SYSTEM

With our NCC® TLS, we are able to react modularly to the requirements of the tram. For this purpose, a wide range of 90 mm and 70 mm LED lights are available for the front and rear. Our system is rounded off by a 70 mm LED headlight (Z1) and modern side indicators in LED light guide technology as well as LED side marker lights with the corresponding reflectors. Note: All NCC® lights meet the requirements of EN 50 155 for operation in rail vehicles. As our lights are also tested and homologated according to the highest MIL, ECE and SAE criteria, they clearly exceed the requirements of EN 50 155.

SAFETY BY DAY AND NIGHT

NCC® failure control systems for trams: The NCC® OVP module is necessary for the failure-free operation of NCC® lights. It filters voltage peaks from the on-board network up to 2000 V and thus prevents damage or malfunctions. Furthermore, the NCC® OVP module offers the possibility of retrofitting a failure check via an integrated current measurement. The respective lighting function is permanently monitored. In the event of a fault, an external switching output is activated, which either activates a control lamp or can be used as a switching input of a PLC, for example. The switching outputs of several modules can be combined, allowing individual or group monitoring. The NCC® OVP module is available as a single or multi-channel solution; up to 3 channels can be accommodated in one housing. Additional channels and special designs are available on request.

SIGNAL TRANSMITTER: NCC® SBG-2

A flasher unit is a standard component in rail and road vehicles. The electronic flasher unit from Nolden goes one step further here: Failure monitoring is now also integrated for the special rail vehicle flasher unit. Up to three channels per vehicle side can be monitored individually. The load triggering thresholds are programmable. This enables individual detection of the four indicators at the front and rear as well as collective monitoring of the side indicators. In the event of failure of one or more lights, an external switching output is activated, which either triggers an indicator light or can be used as an input signal for a PLC.
